Paper
Paper waste puts pressure on recycling services and limited wood stocks. Reducing it is a key pillar of our environmental and sustainable development initiatives.

By reducing the page counts of our manuals from 288 to 32 and removing leaflets from our packages, we have cut 9.4 million sheets of A4 paper from having to be recycled or ending up in landfill.
Wood
Wooden waste is used throughout heavy-duty tool packaging, but this is generated in large volumes.

To do our part to improve the sustainability of wood use, Milwaukee Tools has changed the design of our product sleeves, saving 2,932 trees.
Water
Reductions in paper and wood use are also driving down Milwaukee Tools’ water footprint. Our new packaging has saved 3,544 KL of water since it was introduced.

This reduces the pressure on water systems, which are at high risk of being affected by drought due to climate change.
Plastic
Many plastics can be recycled but aren’t due to logistical constraints. The best way to reduce plastic pollution and landfill use is to cut out their use entirely.

Milwaukee Tools have ended their use of plastic polybags, used to individually wrap tools, in new packaging. So far, 132,399 polybags have been saved, meaning less plastic production and less waste.
